An ‘Exclusive Sundayz’ at Greenberry Garden
Greenberry Garden is the new place to chill at every last Sunday of the month, and the first chill session was launched this past Sunday, where the sophisticated youth enjoyed the tranquillity of the newly dubbed ‘Exclusive Sundayz’.
The host of the event, McGyever Serero better known as DJ Guyvos who is Btv’s resident DJ, said that the initiative is a lifestyle event based on music, food and fashion. It targets the corporate world, sophisticated youth with class and taste to socialise and network on Sundays.
“We believe that this initiative better suits our target audience because bars are always overrated and at times those who go there for business while socialising do not really get that comfort zone. On the other hand, bars are often dangerous because everyone goes there, but here we have put in place security for our customers to enjoy their time unbothered,” explained DJ Guyvos.
On the first day of the initiative, the stylish crowd came much early to the garden. Good music that was played on the day turned on the crowd, as a lot of people stood on their toes to get along with the rhythm of the music. Music included house music-slow jams, Niger and a bit of RnB and Hip Hop. DJ Guyvos noted that the music selection was based on the fact that Niger is enjoyed by most people across the world while most of the youth enjoy RnB alongside Hip Hop and slow jams are always suitable for relaxed Sundays. Therefore they wanted to cater for all tastes.
People also enjoyed the good food that was freshly prepared by the merited Chefs at the event, who applauded Exclusive Sundayz for giving them exposure regarding their job. Onthusitse Tamokate of Ontamy Investments (Smoothies and Salads) set the pace, as she made the fresh smoothies to soothe thirst and give a lot more energy. For some people who regularly visit food outlets for shakes and smoothies, they were impressed by Tamokate’s work.
Thus, they kept buying more and testified that they were nothing different from the ones they buy at shops. Tamokate did not only serve smoothies and salads, she also preached healthy eating, hence their slogan ‘Your health, our Concern’ and being from a company that deals with fashion, health and beauty. “We use fresh fruits for our smoothies and actually do it immediately when one places order to allow them to enjoy the nutritious drink.
“We have the healthiest smoothie which does not have any dairy and we do not add any artificial ingredients. However, people enjoy the one with dairy the most although it is the least nutritious compared to the one without dairy,” she said adding that people should at times consider health than taste in food. Boineelo Lesomo and her team also treated patrons to their yummy burgers and steak, which were also frequently bought. “We are new in the industry, and hence we are thankful to Exclusive Sundayz because people will notice us from here.
It is such a great opportunity for us and the event is an awesome one because everyone is just chilled enjoying their Sunday,” said Lesomo, the Chef.
All the attendants looked relaxed in their circles while enjoying the music, food and some bowed on their phones throughout the day because of the available Wi-Fi. Chandapiwa Kgathego, 23 also applauded the initiative saying that it is a best place to be on a Sunday. “It is a chilled nice place and I am here for entertainment with my friends and I am so happy because it is all lit. The music is good,” she said.
Her friends, Padima and Kabelo said the place was great, adding that they always chill at Tshimong in Tlokweng, but now they have noted a big difference because Tshimong is always crowded.
The next session will be held on the last Sunday of this month, and the coordinators of the event say that they will keep the standard to impress their customers at all times.
