Vikings limping into the league

SOFTBALL
Two weeks away from the start of the prestigious local softball league, Vikings softball team finds itself in a web of predicament following the departure of its key players. The Gaborone-based team will be contesting in the BOFINET softball league in both the men and ladies category.

Information reaching this publication suggests that Vikings will be going into the league contest with no experienced fielders nor pitchers. It has been  recently reported that the team has been undergoing some tension between the players and the sitting committee. According to a source, Vikings are likely to use inexperienced players that are not match ready for the kind of level of play that the top league demands.

The information reaching BG Sport further revealed that the newly engaged players are senior secondary school leavers who only possess match experience from school tournaments. Motse Rabogatsu, who is the Vikings men captain, revealed that it is indeed true that they have been going through a number of team troubles.

Rabogatsu continued to explain that he does not know what the next league season has for them. “We can only be optimistic going into the league, it sure is not going to be easy to play with players who have not been exposed to high level contest but we have to go into the field and do the work,” said the optimistic Rabogatsu.

One of the key players, Tebogo Makachana, who has been one of the key players with Vikings, confirmed his departure from the team.
“I am with Police now and it has been a month since I left Vikings,” said Makachana. Efforts to reach the team management, including the coach were futile.
