Sensational Miscellaneous face tough test

Serowe’s Miscellaneous SC have arguably been the surprise package of the 2017/18 season. The BTC Premiership outfit have been the third best team in the country for the better part of the season. Currently on the fourth spot, Tse Nala are battling with the more fancied Orapa United for third spot in the league. The Serowe outfit even boast of a shock win against championship points leader Township Rollers. Under veteran local coach Boyo ‘Oris’ Radipotsane, Miscellaneous were the first team to claim the sculp of Rollers when they beat the MmaMasire glamour boys 3-1.

However, this weekend Radipotsane’s charges face perhaps their toughest challenge including a difficult fixture against Gaborone United at the Serowe Sports Complex tonight (Wednesday). A home ground advantage is expected to come in handy for Radipotsane. Four days later, Tse Nala are expected to be in Jwaneng Mining town to face a rather stiff test against Jwaneng Galaxy. By any means the two fixtures will be difficult to predict. However, given their achievements in both the first and second round, Miscelleneous will both be coming into the two fixtures as underdogs.

Tse Nala are currently at 41 points in fourth position after 23 games. Their amazing season’s fairy tale include scoring 38 goals which is more that championship front runners Rollers and Galaxy. Radipotsane took over from Daniel Nare who moved on to Orapa United in the first round. He inherited a highly capable squad after Nare left and Miscelleneous who have been perennial relegation candidates are bound to finish the league in the lucrative Top 8 bracket. Against GU tonight Miscellaneous will be facing a mid-table team that is home to sensational op goal scorer and possible the most valuable player in the league Thatayaone Kgamanyane. The 22-year-old striker currently commands 17 goals.

Kgamanyane is well on his way to securing the lucrative green boot. However, close behind is Miscelleneous’ Orebotse Mongae with 14 goals. The challenge gets more exciting as the two Top goal scorer contenders come face to face. GU’s Rudolf Zapata will also rely on another prolific goal scorer Tumisang Orebonye who currently commands over 10 goals. Tse Nala will boast of other capable goal scorers which includes Resaobaka Thatanyane, Mponang Mponang and veteran striker Master Masitara. After the GU encounter a looming threat will await Miscelleneous as they face the highly consistent and more fancied Galaxy.
