Local football sensations Township Rollers will join Uganda’s Kampala City, Egypt’s Al Ahly and Tunisia’s Esperance in Group A following the CAF Champions’ league group stages draw this past Thursday in Cairo, Egypt. Popa will start their African excursion in Gaborone   on 5th May when the   take on Kampala City. Popa made history by being the first local team to make it into the CAF champions’   league group stages after beating Tanzania’s Young African 2-1 on aggregate last weekend. Qualifying for the group stages has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for Mapalastina. 

The second leg game against Kampala City will be on 28th of 29th May in Kampala. On May 16th or 17th Rollers are expected to face the might Al Ahly of Egypt in Cairo while the second leg will be played in Gaborone on 16th or 17th August. 

On 17th or 18th July Popa are expected to host Tunisia’s ESP in Gaborone while the return leg will be on August 27 or 28th. Besides Kampala City, Rollers are expected to have their work cut out for them when they play former CAF champions Al Ahly and Tunisia’s ESP.  

The Egyptians  have  lifted  the  Champions  league  trophy   eight  times .The  last  time  was  in 2013.The away fixtures in north African nations will be a baptism of fire and a new   experience for the MmaMasire glamour boys. Rollers qualified for the CAF Champions’ league group stages after recently beating Yanga before close to 20 000 spectators.

 The group stages will prove   lucrative for Popa who will bring some of the best team in Africa to local shores.
