Moyo leads Police XI's offensive
Former Gaborone United (GU) marksman Hendrick Moyo has received a new lease on life at BTC premiership outfit Police XI.
It seems like Moyo is just what the doctor has prescribed for Police XI after their recruit led an impressive 3-1 assault on Mochudi Centre Chiefs. After sinking into a deep red sea of mediocrity at GU, Moyo has found the perfect platform to revive his fortunes with the Jungle Kings.
The 28-year-old Tutume native has found his scoring form. Moyo scored the first goal against Chiefs in their last game and Police headcoach Junior Letlamoreng is expecting a lot more from the experienced striker. “My prayers have been answered here at Police XI because I was looking for game time from Gaborone United. All I have to do is perform and do what they have hired me for,” Moyo said.
“I do not really know why I was denied game time at GU, that was for the coach to decide which players to field and who he believes in. The difference between my past and current situation is that Letlamoreng believes in my abilities,” Moyo said adding that it seems as if Letlamoreng had been keeping a tab on his progress in the previous game he played.
“He is a person who has shown belief in me”. Moyo said the Police coach moved quickly to secure his services once he heard the GU contract was left with only four months. “The coach wanted me to join Police at all costs.”
The former national team player said GU headcoach Rudolf Zapata did not give him a chance. “I was not given feedback on where I was lacking. Maybe the GU coach will now realise my strengths at Police.”Letlamoreng said Moyo is playing well, adding that his team needed someone like him. “If we had him in the first round.
