CEDA CEO contests for Softball presidency

In what comes a surprise, Citizen Entreprenual Development Agency (CEDA) Chief Executive officer, Thabo Thamane has entered the race for the Botswana Softball presidency at the end of this month when the BSA is expected to hold its elective congress.
The incumbent, president, Tirelo ‘Scania’ Mukokomani is not contesting in order to concentrate on his new role as the vice president of the World Softball Organisation.
Thamane is expected to face current Vice President and Assistant Commissioner, Katlholo States Mosimanegape. Both men have confirmed to BG Sport that they will contest. Mosimanegape says all he wants is to consolidate his ideas and take softball to greater heights as he has been part of the administration that kept softball alive and hosted the world Softball Baseball congress last year.
Confirming his availability, Thamane shared his material in a letter to the sporting fraternity. The letter in part reads, “I officially present myself for consideration to be your servant as the President of Botswana Softball Association (BSA). I do this after a thorough review of the profile and nature of Softball in Botswana as a sport. I am therefore very much aware of its current stature. It is with this understanding that I wish to share with you the future of Softball. I would like to work with you to build through My Pledge,” the letter reads.
“My pledge is a reflection of the future of Botswana Softball. I desire to build with you; it is a move towards recognition, a move towards Prosperity, a move towards excellence and a move towards pride. It is this future that I Present myself for consideration, and that I wish to work with all of you to deliver. I have no iota of doubt that with the passion and resilience you have demonstrated for Softball under the prevailing circumstances.”
Thamane believes that with proper support, softball can be taken to its deserving place within the hearts of Batswana and indeed in the global arena.
“In view of the aforementioned, I would like you to consider me on the back of my pledge, which, I present to you in summary through my strategic intents based on a robust strategy as follows; Financial Sustainability, Operational Efficiency and effectiveness, Governance and ethical conduct.” Thamane said softball should be looked at as career and an alternative to formal employment. His campaign also addresses economic equality for all teams - levelling the playing field to bolster fair competition (Both Institutional and non-Institutional teams). Once he becomes BSA president Thamane will address the Growth Development agenda (from youth, current team players, masters, fan clubs) as well as Infrastructure Development in major villages to encourage softball amongst youths and Sector financial assistance.
Thamane argues the above strategic intents will singularly be unravelled as he moves closer to the elections. “I wish to applaud those that have been there before and have taken Softball thus far and I commit to working with them for advice and guidance. I further applaud those that I will contest with for they too have the love for softball.
The BSA elective congress will be in Palapye on April 28.
