Bokomo powers Team White Star at 1000KM Desert Race
Bokomo Botswana, as one of the Toyota Kalahari 1000km Desert race’s long-standing supporters, is growing their partnership with Team White Star in this years edition due on June 21 to the 23rd in Selibe Phikwe.
What initially started off as a sponsorship in the race car component of the Desert race has now been extended towards the quad-biking category.“As Bokomo Botswana, we recognize the exponential growth in popularity of the Toyota Kalahari 1000km Desert Race amongst locals and the international sporting fraternity. We are a local entity that aims to champion Botswana talent and this partnership with the White Star Team is our way of contributing to the legacy of the sport in our country,” stated Bokomo Botswana Marketing Manager, Monicah Tau
While the winter months usually contain people indoors, an event like this brings people together in an outside setting, allowing them to camp and enjoy the off-road landscapes that they otherwise would not have been exposed to. “Our sponsorship of the team is grounded in promoting what Botswana has to offer in terms of the natural beauty of our desert, the motor racing and quad-biking sporting talent, and the celebrated ‘Botho’ virtue which remains a binding social force amongst Batswana,” Tau continued to explain. For his part, Team White Star representative, Keith du Toit expressed gratitude to Bokomo Botswana for the continued support.
“Having the nation behind us as Team White Star fuels and invigorates us as we get ready for the race. We really want to give thanks to our partners Bokomo Botswana through the White Star brand, our followers and the nation at large for continuously encouraging us for these many years,” he said. As the motor sport racing competition grows in the country, Bokomo Botswana looks forward to the future of working with aspiring young motorists and quad bikers.
With the experience of Team White Star, they are able to reach and inspire communities and develop talents that can reach bigger international platforms. “We wish the team a safe and successful run at the race and are excited for the growth this partnership will bring for us all,” concluded Tau.
