The deceased leaves behind three children
The late Daisy Mogojwe, who died in Block 6 fire incident with her boyfriend last Sunday leaves behind three children.“We are still in shock and we are finding it hard to come to terms over what happened. And we still have to inform our other relatives,” said one of her uncles.
The deceased’s grandmother, who had wanted to speak to The Midweek Sun team was quickly cut off by her daughter, the deceased’s aunt, who felt that it was too soon for her to be discussing the matter with the media. However, a sister to the grandmother of the late Mogojwe revealed that the 36-year old woman was a mother of three children. She said Mogojwe left the father of her children Mahetlhwe, near Molepolole for her new boyfriend sometimes late last year.
“She was the only child of her late mother, now she has left her children without a mother,” she said. According to the aunt, Mogojwe loved alcohol and would not listen when her grandmother told her of its risks. “She was staying with the father of her children and her in-laws in Mahetlhwe. We had thought that staying with them would reduce or stop her binge drinking. Her grandmother warned her several times that alcohol would kill her one day if she doesn’t quit but it fell into deaf ears. See how she died! Actually, it is because of her alcohol that her man and in-laws gave up on her,” she said.
The old woman also said that her family did not know her deceased boyfriend Stephen Ramoshabati Mokgalagadi. “We knew the father of her three children. Early this year I heard that she had left him and we’re shocked that she died with another man. We heard alcohol was a contributing factor but knowing Kwanta, (as Mogojwe was called), she loved her alcohol. She revealed that Mogojwe had inherited her mother’s house, where they died.
