My Star proves to be as popular as ever
This past weekend marked the eagerly anticipated launch of My Star Season 11, which saw multitudes of people flocking to the Gaborone International School hall to witness the return of the popular singing talent show.
Recently some fans have been criticizing the long running show saying it has lost its spark. However, naysayers were proven wrong this past Friday. The young and the old came to support the show and most of the performers seemed to impress them.
One of the contestants, Angel Rakgobe electrified the whole room with her dance moves as she sang pop star Beyonce Knowles’ hit Single Ladies. Her dance moves and her costume were spot on and left her audience asking for more.
“This all reminds me of the old Destiny’s Child dressing style and how they used to dance back then, and I am proud that today I have watched something like that live in my country and not on TV,“ said one of the attendants of the show.
Contestant number 18 also shook the audience with her angelic voice, when she performed her piece. The new judge, Lee Tshipane also paid full attention to the contestants in amazement.
Thus, some of the 42 contestants will be eliminated from the show this coming weekend, following the previous performance. The show has since seen its founder and long time judge Master Dee stepping aside.
