MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING
While the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) has been playing hide and seek with the highly anticipated report of their former Secretary General, the late Gomolemo Motswaledi, The Midweek Sun is reliably informed that the report has been ready for a long time. It is said the report is currently held by two prominent lawyers, Tshiamo Rantao and Dick Bayford.
According to reliable sources the report did not find any foul play in the demise of the late Motswaledi. Motswaledi died in a freak car accident on the A1 Highway between Ramatlabama border post and Pitsane village on July 30 2014.
His untimely death is still a subject of speculation and interest to the nation especially with the hype that was created through the private investigation on what could have killed him. Within less than two weeks the police released their findings that there was no foul play in the accident. This government police report came under fire from the UDC as the party leadership and members indicated that they do not trust the police and would not buy into the police findings hence the reason Batswana were made to wait for a report by an independent investigator.
An account was opened so that sympathisers could contribute towards making the investigation a success. The party suspected that Motswaledi did not die from the car accident but was assassinated before being dumped in his Audi 3 sedan in some cover-up to conceal the true cause of his death. “The report is there. It does not commit anyone including the government. So bagarona ga ba itse gore baka e baya jang.
Their fear is that they have used money that people contributed towards the report but then there is nothing in the report to continue making people look at Government with anger or resentment as they had hoped,” said the source. It is estimated that the money that was contributed amounts to over P2 million.
