Man arrested for threatening to kill Lesetedi on bail
A 36 year-old man from Dinokwane ward in Serowe who was arrested last year September for threatening to kill Crime Intelligence boss, Nunu Lesetedi is expected back in court before the end of this month, Serowe Police Station commander Superintendent Molefhe Molefhe has said.
Ramapulane Selato, who goes by the name Chaff Ramz Selato on Facebook, posted on his page that people should help him search for and kill Lesetedi for harassing people and for taking their belongings and money.
‘Ke kopa le mpatise monna yo, o tsamaya a tseela batho madi le dithoto tsa bone. Fa le mmona le mmolae’ so goes the Facebook page that appeared on September 4. In an earlier interview, Supt.Molefhe Molefhe told The Midweek Sun that since the matter involves social media, they were forced to use modern technology to trace the source and if they find the suspect, would charge him with threat to kill.
This week he said that they were still continuing with investigations and might prefer a different charge after Selato told the police that he posted while under the influence of dagga.Lesetedi said he was notified of the circulating Facebook post by his daughter. “I followed it on Facebook and went to report him. He was found and arrested. He said in his post that I take people’s money and dagga and that I should be killed,” he said. Asked about his safety, he said that he was alert. “I can never say I’m safe but the job has to be done. I just have to keep my eyes open,” he said.
