International women's health conference comes to Gabs

 Ancora Women’s Clinic, Power Kris and Dr. Doreen Ramogola Masire, an Obstetrician - will host an international women’s health conference May 17 – 18th 2018 at the University Of Botswana.

Event spokesperson, Loatile Seboni says the goal of the conference is to examine international, regional and national ‘best practices’ and innovative approaches in women’s health issues. “We also want to chart a way forward on how to empower our healthcare professionals,” she said. It is hoped a set of substantive policy and action oriented recommendations will come out of the conference to be attended by 200 delegates and speakers including medical students and high profile family medicine academics from South Africa.

Seboni noted that speakers on the day would cover a variety of topics including but not limited to the role of technology in health care delivery, cancer care, health and nutrition, social determinants of health. “The conference will be a great opportunity to showcase local talent in terms of the medical professionals who will be speaking,” she said. Seboni said they had specifically invited international speakers who are renowned experts in their fields from the University of Cape Town and Groote Schurr Hospital in Cape Town, South Africa.
