Glitz and glamour as AP unveils its Brand & Slogan
Alliance for Progressives (AP) President Ndaba Gaolathe says people should take time to understand what it means to be a progressive. Speaking at the AP brand and slogan launch in Gaborone this week, Gaolathe said progressive people fight evil and all its manifestations on behalf of Batswana.
“It is not everyone who understands what we are talking about when we say we are progressive. I have a team of hard working committee, Members of Parliament, councillors and youth. I trust them in everything we do because we are doing this for Batswana.
I am surrounded by intelligent people”, said Gaolathe. At the glam launch held at Travel Lodge in Gaborone’s Block 3 suburbs, Gaolathe unveiled the party’s slogan ‘Tswelelopele; ya botlhe’. The colours that will symbolise the party are purple and white. AP, a splinter party of the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD), is scheduled to be launched this Saturday in Gaborone in a glittering event.Gaolathe said this is their first step and their intention is to protect Batswana and the country.
According to Gaolathe the AP is a beautiful place for people with “a swagger” where everyone wants to be. Gaolathe who is also MP for Bonnington South explained that the AP is just like the great cities of the world that everyone wanted to see. He explained the power of branding by citing examples of the cities of New York, San Francisco and Paris, which have since become everyone’s talk. And just like those cities, he said AP is “busy” and thanks to branding, everyone - far and near - will now want to associate with the party. He applauded the AP youth for spearheading the branding process.
