Gardener accused of murdering his employer following a dispute over money

A 25-year-old man is alleged to have murdered his employer, Tsholofelo Gasennelwe following a dispute over money this week. Recent reports are that the accused, who works as a gardener believed the deceased owed him money.

The incident happened in Gaborone on Wednesday around 11:00 hrs in Block 6,Gaborone. According to Station Commander of Gaborone West Police Station, Agreement Mapeu, the body of the deceased was discovered lying in a pool of blood. The Gasennelwe was later confirmed dead at the hospital.

Further investigations regarding the matter are still ongoing, and the suspect is due to undergo psychiatric evaluation. In addition, Mapeu further advised the general public at large to be careful when engaging people for work. He also noted that it is important to be cordial in any form of work to avoid conflicts. “ Always settle the conflicts that may arise between you because that will be beneficial for a good relationship,” he said.

On the other hand he advised members of the public never to take the law on their hands, as they may end up in trouble. “People should report their grievances to the relevant offices because we are here to help everyone and maintain peace between people. Please utilise the existing law of the country and do not be controlled by anger,” he said.
