Deadline extended for Youth Development Fund applications

The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture (MYESEC) today announced that they have extended deadlines for Youth Development Fund (YDF) applications. The initial dates set for the applications were from July 4th to August 4th.

The ministry has however extended the dates to give the youth more time. Public Relations Officer in the ministry Thobo Tlhasana said that the dates have been extended, because the youth have been complaining over the short period of time set. “We have since received numerous requests from the youth for extension of this deadline. In response to this request, the ministry has set aside the deadline of 4th August 2017,” he explained.

He further said that their office would therefore receive applications continuously until the budget allocation for different constituencies is reached, adding that they believe this will allow young people to submit viable project proposals. “The youth lamented that the application form has a lot of requirements but the time frame was short, so we extended the deadline to enable them to have ample time to submit fully-fledged application forms and we expect best proposals,” reiterated Tlhasana.
