Bouncy relocates to Asia
Maureen Maila aka Bouncy in the music business, will soon be jetting off to Asia to start a music career that will potentially see her reach stardom.
“Yes. I am relocating to Asia and this is a big full circle moment for me,” chuckles Bouncy in an interview with The Midweek Sun. “It is certainly not relocation per se at least not a permanent one because I believe Asia will be my starting ground as I also want to take on Hollywood.”
The ‘Walking Away’ hitmaker is set to leave the country next month along with her manager from Off Campus Events, Michele Gaofano. Bouncy’s itinerary includes an invasion of Asian countries like Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. The singer will go on a full-fledged yacht cruise that will see her performing in concerts featuring a roster of other renowned guest artists.
“We will mostly be living on a yacht and there I will get to have a whole new experience of sharing my music with different people from all walks of life,” she says in full beam. The 24 year old singer will get a chance to work with a slew of Asia’s rising musicians, particularly in Singapore. Whilst she did not reveal the insides of her deal in Singapore, Bouncy is confident that her new journey will be the window of opportunity for greater things.
She does not care a hoot about the challenges to be expected when one moves into a whole new environment. Whilst Asia is not really big on mainstream hip hop culture which Bouncy is renowned for, the star believes she will shine. “The idea is not to blend in, but to be different. I have always been different. It took a single Television appearance for my country to take notice. Life will be light and liberty in Asia,” she confidently declares.
With a successful debut album under her belt and hit singles including ‘Walking Away,’ Bouncy has navigated highs and lows and she has had professional triumph. Her journey to Asia is only the beginning. “I am going to make things happen. Believe me, Asia is not ready,” she declares.
