BMD activist Kaeparura laid to rest
Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) activist, Naphtal Kaeparura, was laid to rest in Pilane this Saturday.
Kaeparura who was until his untimely death was a member of the BMD National Executive Committee, holding the portfolio of Secretary for Local Government.
He is a former Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) member, having represented the party as councillor for Pilane from 2004-2009. Kaeparura then joined other BDP members who left the party to form the Botswana Movement for Democracy.
The late politician who died in a car accident on his way from the cattle post taught Social Studies and Setswana in various Junior Secondary Schools from 1991-1994. He quit teaching in 1994 to start his own business and also join politics.
Different speakers at his funeral described Kaeparura as a fiery businessman and politician who worked hard for the disadvantaged members of the society.
His funeral was attended by the BMD president, Sidney Pilane and members of the party’s National Executive Committee.
