ATI promises to fly at BTv circle

ATI will stage his latest marketing gimmick on Monday, September 26 at the traffic  circle adjacent to the Mass Media Complex that houses Botswana Television (BTV).

The ‘Polao ya Motho’ hitmaker, who is revered for his unorthodox creativity often associated with Satanism, has kept a low profile for the past few months but he has returned and true to his persona, he is guaranteed to set tongues wagging. During his quiet time, the rumour mill had it that he had fallen on hard times and quit music.

However, the young star has resurfaced with a newly released single dubbed ‘Bilharzia.’In an interview with The Midweek Sun, ATI admitted that he had indeed hit hard times and was considering quitting music, but like a phoenix, he has risen from the ashes. “I now have a new marketing strategy and I am determined to utilise my talent and never to give up like I almost did, because of how people badly talk of me,” he said. His recent collaboration track with Diva Vebrok and Berry Heart seems to have awoken him from his slumber and reignited his music career.

ATI said he has always been an artist who specifically thinks outside the box. He said noticing this, Diva Vebrok’s boyfriend, Nana Kwaku Bonsam has identified and chosen to support him. He shared that Bonsam has taught him to suspend on the air during his performances, a trick he will share with his followers as a pre-Independence day gift.

ATI said that he would be levitating in the air for about two hours by the Btv circle on Monday after office hours. During the event’s shooting, there will also be soldiers, who will be standing around to distribute flyers enclosed in black envelopes. Vebrok will also be present, painted in gold and seated on the ground without movement for two hours. Bonsam has always ‘blessed’ a few artists with specific moves, based on how creative they are on stage. According to ATI, his intention of giving him this trick was to motivate him to carry on with his talent. The move will also be demonstrated in the music video of his new hit single, Bilharzia.

“The single Bilharzia comes at a time when I have been experiencing the misery of being out of the limelight in the music industry. I am forever thankful to the few people who have supported me such as Diva Vebrok and Antiverb, to mention a few,” he said. ATI further said although he might be a million miles away from Hollywood, his intention is to bring the magic of the industry to Botswana’s entertainment scene. “I want to relate the message to everyone that if you want to do it or think you can do it, then do it and waste no time,” he said.

When quizzed on why he specifically chose to display his strange demonstration by the Btv circle, he said that the Western bypass is the busiest route and they are targeting much audience to show all and sundry that he is back with a bang.
