Laleo Designs targets the north market

The biggest challenge that the Francistown based Laleo Designs encounters is that their potential clients prefer seeking graphic design and advertising services in Gaborone. These are the same services that their company offers.

Mbako Matenge, the founder of the company, said this in an interview and says that because their company is based in Francistown it is quite a challenge as some people are sceptical that they could offer services of the magnitude they desire. Another challenge is that because they currently do not have printing equipment it’s costly as they rely on printing outlets for their printing.

Laleo Designs was established in 2012 but started its operations in 2013 after Matenge quit his two-year full time job as a Public Relations officer. He currently has two employees, with one still under graphic design mentorship. He aspires to have more in future.  As a degree graduate of Media Communications and Culture at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, the 28 year old explained that he aspires to have more branches in the Northern region because there is a niche for their services in their area.

“This is a viable business that we intend to grow; we just deserve respect for our work and our biggest clients in Francistown include law firms, dental clinics, and Francistown city council,” said Matenge.

He stated that they market their business through door-to-door visits on clients, monthly stalls in malls and posters around the city. He said that in terms of social media they are to re-ignite their social media pages and reach out to a wider audience because it is a great tool of marketing. They had just currently added advertising to their services last month and intend to have more services to the company.
