Through a press statement late Thursday, VPB Propco, the franchisees of the KFC business in the country said that all their stores will be by closed 5th June 2016. “Such a step is always for us, a final resort and during the course of the last 12 months, we have worked tirelessly to seek an alternative.
However, after much deliberation, it is clear that it is no longer feasible to continue operations,” a statement from VPB Propco reads. Moreover, VPB Propco will be expected to close over 12 branches across the country after operating locally for over 20 years.
“We thank Batswana for the incredible family, which we have built together, and for their unwavering support. VPB will continue to engage all stakeholders while adhering to all regulatory and governance guidelines as well as working with all employees through this time.”
VPB said this was a difficult business decision to make but one that needed to be taken.
