FACING ADVERSITY...Coach Botshelo Pelokgosi is leading Holy Ghost FC's in their harsh Introduction to the elite league

Holy Ghost Football Club, newcomers to the Botswana Football League, are being plagued by the spectre of relegation as they come to grips with the harsh reality of elite competition. Their struggles were evident in their recent match against title contenders Orapa United, where they were soundly defeated 0-4 at the Molepolole Sports Complex.

Despite sitting at the bottom of the league standings, Holy Ghost coach, Botshelo Pelokgosi remains optimistic and determined in the face of adversity. He attributes the team's early goals conceded to "schoolboy errors," and urged his players to give their opponents less respect and to put more effort into their games.

"I do not give up easily and we should keep working until the final whistle of the last game of the league," Pelokgosi said in a post-match interview, dressed in military fatigues. The coach believes that his team needs just three points to turn their fortunes around and is not giving up hope for a victory in the first round of the league.

Pelokgosi also revealed that he has identified experienced players who could help the team avoid relegation during the next transfer window. However, he said, the final decision lies with the team management.

After 11 games, Holy Ghost has yet to secure a win, with four draws and seven losses, for a total of four points. The team has also conceded more goals than any other team in the league, with a total of 22.
