Police fear they could be dealing with a serial rapist

Tonota Police are on the hunt for a man who attacks women in their homes late at night and proceeds to rape them.

According to Tonota Police Station Commander Oteng Ngada, the unidentified man is terrorising Semotswane village, which is less than five kilometres from Tonota.

In just one month, they have registered two separate cases in which a man used a crowbar to forcibly enter the homes of two women.

After gaining entry into the house, the man demands that they give him money, failure to do so, they pay with their private parts.

“What we have gathered is that the perpetrator always covers his face, making it hard for victims to identify him. It seems he first studies the movements of his targets before coming for them. He demands money first and if you do not have it, you pay by having sex with him,” Ngada said.

The police boss noted that they suspect that they are dealing with the same man because he uses the same modus operandi.

He advises women around the area to be vigilant because they might be dealing with a possible serial rapist.

Although Ngada was cagey with details, this publication has been reliably informed that the suspect does not only rape his victims, he also washes his semen from their vaginas in an effort to eliminate evidence.

It is alleged that when the women were raped, condoms were not used.

From October to December in 2022, Ngada's policing area registered ten cases of rape while January 2023 has already registered four cases to date.
