Eagle Digital Productions, a local photography brand, recently opened a studio in Kopong. Owner and director of Eagle Digital Productions, Goitseone Mokonopi is a professional photographer who boasts two qualifications in photography and videography who aspires to be a well-rounded international photographer.

Mokonopi said that he ventured into photography in 2014, as a self-taught photographer but later on went to study Diploma in Digital Video production at Limkokwing University in 2016. 'Being an open minded photographer, I couldn't stop learning. I also pursued BA (Hons) Degree in Digital Film and Television in 2021, because all I wanted was to improve my skills to compete better within the industry,' he said. He explained that he perceives photography as an art that requires creativity and rightful skills in order for one to achieve better results.

He further said that he is happy that there are more photographers but he is concerned that most of them are not willing to improve their skills. 'There are so many photographers in Botswana, and mainly focused on shooting individuals, weddings and events to mainly make money. They are not into products photography, culture and wildlife which actually needs excellent photography for archives and showing off what Botswana is made up of,' he said.

He shared that his main dream is to become well established both in film and photography.' I want to become well established in both film and photography, and eventually expand my studio and employ passionate photographers, that I can share my knowledge and skills with others,' he said.

Mokonopi further said that photography is another form of therapy to him, and having managed to open a studio allows him to do his job efficiently, anytime his clients need his services unlike before when he only depended on bookings.

'I do photography for business, fun, and to also try new concepts. Doing photography uplifts me, when I'm down,' he said. He added that he also endavours to travel around the country and document Botswana through the lens, so that he can have a lot produced from his studio.
