"ll do anything for Masisi" - Lucas

Vice President Mokgweetsi Masisi’s newfound blue eyed boy Jojo Modiri Lucas has informed The Midweek Sun that he will support the VP with everything that he has and owns.

Lucas made the revelation following complaints by some Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) members in Francistown region that Masisi who has been hosted by Lucas at his farm to bolster his campaigns ahead of the July Congress is causing confusion in the region which was won by the team aligned to Nonofo Molefhi.

A very close source at BDP revealed that the reasons behind Lucas’ withdrawal from the race for central committee membership was to position himself to play a very important part in the team’s campaigns to ensure that Masisi retains BDP chairmanship which many believe will give him the much-needed powers to run BDP once Khama steps down in 2018.

Lucas, who is believed to be harbouring ambitions to contest in the Bulela Ditswe Parliamentary elections for Francistown South, could neither confirm nor deny his farm’s role as a launching ground for Masisi’s factional campaigns but he insists that he is a diehard fan of Masisi who will make it a point that he wins the chairmanship by offering him whatever he owns, without specifically referring to the farm in question.
