The UDC Verdict IT'S A TOUGH ASK
*There is no BMD President -Boko
*BMD factions can’t commit to sharing power
*Both factions to meet on the matter
Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) factions led by Ndaba Gaolathe and Sydney Pilane could not commit themselves to a power sharing deal recommended by Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC). Both factions were at pains to explain whether they are ready to work together to bring peace and harmony at the orange movement yesterday at Oasis Motel.Addressing media after the verdict, Wynter Mmolotsi who is the Vice President to Gaolathe faction said they are going to meet as the National Executive Committee (NEC) of their faction to map a way forward about the UDC verdict.Meanwhile, Gaolathe will still be addressing members of their faction this evening at Ave Maria Pastoral Centre, where they plan to map a way forward about the new party which if they agree on, will be launched next month. In their submission, Mmolotsi had wanted the UDC to order re-run to the party congress. “Our hope was that UDC should facilitate fresh elections where members of the BMD are at liberty to choose their own leadership. We will make a determination of what we think about the verdict of the UDC,” said Mmolotsi.
