85-year old perishes in Ftown fire

The sleepy location of Ntshe in Francistown was yesterday awoken to a tragic fire incident which gutted an 85 year old man. Speculation was rife that the pensioner who lived by himself in his farm in which he grew vegetables had sold his farm to a business man in Francistown. It is alleged that information of the sale somehow got to thieves who then paid the old man a visit and reduced his shack into flames.

Confirming the incident, Acting Station Commander, Onious Madziba said that indeed they are investigating the matter. “It is evident that there was a fire, but we are still to establish what could have caused it,” the Acting Station Commander said. “Everything has been burnt,” Madziba said, adding that the only thing they recovered was a burnt generator and a water pump.
