Khama to launch ESP in Machaneng village

President Lt. Gen. Dr. Ian Khama will launch the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) in Machaneng village in the Tswapong/Ramokgonami constituency on Saturday 13th February 2016.

According to government spokesperson Dr. Jeff Ramsay, the launch is expected to start at 08h00. The Economic Stimulus Programme is a Government initiative aimed at boosting the national economy through accelerated job creation and citizen empowerment using the Economic Diversification Drive (EDD) and harnessing the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) programme for citizens.

Meanwhile the public is informed that Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for ESP tenders have been released for projects to be undertaken by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Science and Technology as well as the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.

Whilst the EOIs were on the Daily News and on the Government Facebook page, they can also be viewed at all District Commissioners’ Offices around the country. ESP MILESTONE -OPENING OF EOI  The Office of the President is pleased to announce that the opening of Expression of Interests (EOIs) for construction projects under the Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) will be done with effect from February 9th until February 16th, 2016. The opening of the EOIs will be done publicly at Boipuso Hall in Gaborone from 10am  as per below:

Tuesday February 9th : Opening of EOIs for Grade E ContractorsWednesday February 10th: Grade B and C contractorsThursday February 11th: Grade A EOIsFriday February 12th: Grade OC EOIsMonday February 15th: Grade OC EOIsTuesday February 16th: Grade OC EOIs

During the opening of the EOIs tender submissions, confirmation and announcement of names of all contractors and companies that have expressed interest to tender for projects that will be undertaken by Ministries of Infrastructure, Science and Technology and that of Education and Skills Development will be done publicly.

The public is further informed that submission of EOIs for projects that fall under the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development is still open.
