ECO COUTURE FASHION SHOW IMPRESSES
The first ever Eco couture fashion show by Zero Waste Bw, unearthed a stellar talent from the local designers at the Phakalane Golf Estate on Thursday. The creative fashion designers employed the use of waste material to create a runway adventure.
As if the outfits were not made up of waste products, there was eye candy galore for the audience members as their eyes stayed glued to the models throughout the night. The show presented the most exquisite design and modelling talent the country has to offer. Some dresses were made up of disposable cups together with black disposable plastic, while others were made up of old Compact Discs, paper, 12.5 maize meal packaging, and plastic bags.
Another dress that got the attention of audience members was made up of white paper and burnt at the lose ends. This creativity gave way of giving the dress a beautiful brownish highlight, which impressed both the judges and the audience as it received well attention and admiration. That was not all about the dress; it further made the night easier for the judges. Thus, Dantelle Fashion Creatives reserved P10 000.00 prize cash of the night after beating other designers with their elegant work that included a long yellow dress with a white flower décor by the breast side of the dress.
The star model winner of the night, who walked away with P1000.00, was also dressed by Dantelle Fashion Show. The models of the night wore Empire products and among others the designers included Lesedi Matlapeng. According to one of the judges of the night, points for the designers were based on creativity, impressive final finishing and whether the outfit fitted the model so well.
Some of the artists who also made the night enjoyable include the Botswana rapper, Scar and the talented ATI amongst others. The fashion show aimed at educating people about turning waste into wealth and promoting a clean, eco friendly environment. The next Eco Couture fashion show is expected to come better and more improved next year.
