Majadibodu is lying – Wynter Mmolotsi

Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) Vice President, Wynter Mmolotsi has threatened to take legal action against ruling party activist Dr Ditiro Majadibodu for telling lies about him.

This comes after Dr Majadibodu of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) launched a scathing attack on Mmolotsi over the weekend in Maun during a 2014 general election victory celebration hosted by Maun East MP Konstantino Markus. Dr Majadibodu claimed that Mmolotsi, a former teacher, was dismissed from work for his poor performance and bad relationship with the school management and students.

He said Mmolotsi who is also MP for Francistown South failed the school where he was stationed, adding that the BMD leader quit the teaching profession after being accused of having a sexual relationship with a student.

Dr Majadibodu also accused the MP of always attacking President Ian Khama while he (Mmolotsi) is failing to look after his own father. In an interview with The Midweek Sun, Mmolotsi challenged the rival to produce evidence on his assertions. He said politics has never been about blatantly telling lies about opponents. The legislator stated that he was a teacher at Marang Junior Secondary School for a good four years before joining the publishing industry. “My record as a teacher is impeccable. If Dr Majadibodu is interested to know my performance as a teacher he can go there and find out for himself. He does not know what he is talking about.

“I left the public service with a good track record before joining the publishing industry where I published an Agriculture textbook. He would have to learn a lesson. He is saying I am failing to look after my father. But we buried my father in 2001 so I do not know which one he is talking about. That now is involving my mother so I would not allow him to insult my family.

He would have to justify that claim about the father I am unaware of,” stated the unhappy legislator. He also dismissed Dr Majadibodu’s claims that he has benefited from government programmes where he ventured into farming. Mmolotsi said he does not own goats or cattle at the expense of government programmes and initiatives. Dr Majadibodu has been one of the new recruits who are hitting opposition parties and their leaders below the belt ever since he defected from the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) to the BDP.
