Another private hospital for Gabs

Gaborone’s suburb of Peolwane (Block 7) will soon have a facelift as a new private hospital is set for the area to improve people’s functionality and quality of life.Sidilega Private Hospital, as it will be called, is a locally registered company currently setting up a 103-bed Multi-Specialty Care facility in the area north-west of Gaborone.

The company revealed this week that there shall be a ground-breaking ceremony next week Friday to herald another chapter in the health sector of the city and the country as a whole. Just like Gaborone Private Hospital and Bokamoso Private Hospital, the existing medical institutions in its league, the proposed hospital will provide specialty services like General Medicine, General Surgery, Urology, Maxillofacial Surgery, Neurology, Obstetrics,  Gynaecology and Paediatrics.

The hospital will also offer highly-specialised services not available locally such as Centre of Ophthalmology, Surgical Oncology, Digestive and Liver Disease, Interventional Radiology, Advanced Pain Management, Laparoscopic Surgeries, 24-hour Burns Unit, 24-Hour Pharmacy and an Online Pharmacy.

The proposed facilities will also have services such as Emergency Services and a dedicated Paediatric ER (First in Botswana), 24-hour Laboratory Medicine, 24-hour Radiology including CT Scan and MRI. The hospital will provide state of the art Ambulatory Health-care Services and also Day Care Facilities.

According to the company statement, the proposed hospital will have world class management team supported by reputed doctors and state-of-the-art infrastructure with equipment, delivering the best patient care in the country. “The approximate size of the hospital would be 8500 m2 in Phase One of the project. The company is well-known and is well acquainted with the health care personnel in and around the Southern African Region. The company comprises locally registered doctors and investors who are well-versed with the local market,” says the statement.
