DJ Almac De Moy rocks on the decks

Francistown based DJ and drummer Almac De Moy has proved beyond doubt that through determination, one can achieve anything that they set their eyes on. The Pole born DJ recently left revellers begging for more at the Twigila concert in Francistown.

Although he was the last act on the line-up, as soon as he climbed the stage and started playing his drums, the crowd went wild. As he continued to play, the excited crowds that were dispersing retreated into the venue, enthralled by his unique sounds. Speaking to VIBE following his splendid performance, the DJ, whose real name is Macebo Moyo, said that he learnt his craft through patience until he reached a stage at which he is no longer intimidated by other DJs while on stage.

DJ Almac De Moy managed to contain a large crowd that had come to witness prominent Gaborone based artists performing including ATI, VEE Mampeezy, Dramaboi, DJ Sly, T.H.A.B.O, DJ Gouveia and Han C, when they had long left the stage. One could tell from the wild reception from the crowd that they enjoyed his upbeat performances that was spiced with live drums and other instruments. The former resident DJ at Club HQ in Tutume, is growing his brand as he is featured in Rb2’s mix sessions every Friday at midnight on Zandile Bawe’s show.

DJ Almac De Moy expressed hope that this gig would further rubber stamp his arrival in the music industry. He is currently the only drummer DJ based in the north. His new single titled, Shashamuka, is an ancestral house jam that proved to be a hit during his performance as the revellers repeatedly shouted for an encore. During his set, he is usually accompanied by DJ Cued Soul, to assist him with mixes, while he plays the electronic drums.
