TS Magama drops new offering

Thabo Magama, who goes by the stage name TS Magama, has dropped a new offering called Serve what she deserves. The single, produced by Flex the Ninja, is bound to earn him new fans and reintroduce him to hip-hop heads. The Mathangwane born lad, who previously went by the stage name TS Dope Magama, is on a mission to make his mark in the hip-hop industry.

The 21-year-old is confident that given the hard work he has put into improving his craft; sick lyrics, smooth beats and all, he will soon be a force to be reckoned with in the local music industry. His passion for music was sparked when he was a young boy and Magama knew then that hip-hop was his calling, he says. His music influences include Jay Z, Kanye West and Lil’ Wayne.

TS Magama says that it is also easier to express oneself through hip-hop. “I grew up listening to hip-hop so it was obvious that I would choose this genre; I am comfortable with it and writing lyrics is easier for me.” Magama entered the commercial space in 2015 as a participant in the Yarona FM Headspace rap competition. Although he did not win, he realised that he has what it takes to take his music to another level.

The upbeat rapper, who is now under the management of Gorata Molatlhegi, has already performed twice on Botswana television entertainment show Mokaragana, and is hungry to showcase his talent and music on more platforms. He shares that he would like to work with HT, who is also his music idol and favourite local artist. Magama released his first offering titled Whoz Trippin in October last year, which gave him a head start.

He is now hard at work and promises to release more offerings before the end of the year. “I am working on a mix tape that will be released before the year ends. I am excited because I have so much to offer and I am in a good space to do so,” he told Vibe. He is confident that he has what it takes to take the hip-hop industry by storm. “All I can say is that music lovers should look out for me. I am taking over, “ he added.
