Mrs Botswana crowned in glitzy affair
All roads led to Boipuso Hall over the weekend in order to witness the first crowning of Mrs Botswana, which amazed all the attendants. It was one special pageant never to be forgotten as the 12 ladies, all with a ring on their fingers stunned the audience with their beauty.
They had two parades that included traditional attire and evening wear. The dresses were so stunning that there were cheers and whistles from the crowd who appreciated their beauty. The gorgeous Keitumetse Motlhasedi emerged the queen of the night flanked by Norma-Jean Osi and Olebile Muzila as her first and second princesses, respectively.
The audience admitted that it was a tough competition as a few that the crowd wished to see in top three could not make it since at the end of the day a pageantry requires only top three. However, everyone was satisfied with Motlhasedi being the queen of the night. She articulated her answers well and her beauty was obvious.
The pageant that is family and love based filled the hall with nothing but that atmosphere of warm love and serenity. To sparkle up the night there was also yet another unique parade dubbed ‘Bana ba rona parade’. This was whereby the contestants’ children also had that a chance to walk on the ramp.
It was a fun moment but also showed the responsibility of family building that married women are faced with. Nothing could hide the merriness on the top three’s faces as their husbands also embraced them at the moment of the crowning. Motlhasedi’s husband highlighted that he was thankful for both of their families since they all have been supportive of his wife since day one.
“I am also thankful to God because my wife has managed to walk away with what she has long dreamt of. Thanks for Mrs Botswana organisers for this pageant because she has long wanted to preserve a pageantry title before she got married but now the married title could not allow her anymore,” he said beaming with pride. The second princess, Muzila expressed her joy and gratitude.
The content stunner said that the competition was tough and she was glad that she has made it to the top three. “The competition was tough so I was ready for anything but now I am just joyful. It is a night never to forget,” she said. The night was also made jovial by the duet of Amantle Brown and Jujuboy who mesmerised the audience with a performance of their popular single track ‘Follo’. One of the attendants told Vibe that she has enjoyed every bit of the night. “The pageant has made me realise that married women are also classic beauties. For me the pageant was even much better than all the other contests. Their dresses were on point and they are all beauty with brains,” she said.
