Zee-nice drops second single
Tumelo Sekale, who goes by the stage name Zee nice in music, has dropped his second single titled Knock Knock. The song features Nicey Boy, Zolasko and Samurai Ngingo on guitar. The house-kwasa artist is working under the watchful eye of maverick producer, Zolasko, who produced the hit song Tlhomela by Mlesho. He has also produced hits for the likes of Franco, Slizer and Vee among others.
In an interview with Vibe, Zee-nice explained that Knock knock is a relaxed song. “I am saying to everyone, I am here, so open the doors for me. It is a laid back song,” he says. The 26-year-old, who hails from Mathubudokwane, relishes the support from his family. “Having the support of loved ones is great because it gives you the confidence to pursue your dreams.
I will forever be grateful for the love and support from my family,” he says. He therefore doesn’t want to disappoint those who believe in him, more so as he is confident that he has the talent to contribute meaningfully to the local music scene. Zee-nice says that he fell in love with music as a child and by form three he was already in a group.
He released his debut single titled Lala vuka in 2009. He says that the full album will be released next year, and will feature the popular Shanky Briz of Namibia. The gregarious lad concedes that the music industry has its own fair share of challenges but determination keeps him going. “If you have passion for something, you would never give up on it – you keep giving your best because you love it.”
He however adds that artists should take their work seriously. “It is important to approach music as a business if you want to succeed. If you play around other people will not take you seriously,” he says. Zee-nice would like to work with Mingo, Mswawa and Jah Prazya. “I consider them perfect house kwasa artists; I respect their craft,” he says. His proudest moment in music was performing alongside Emanuel of soapie Rhthym City on Independence Day in Mabalane. Zee-nice will perform in Kalamare and Mochudi later this month.
