Gospel crooner Vusi drops new single in time for festive
Vusumuzi Mtokufa better known as Vusi in gospel music circles will drop his new single track dubbed, Look, look next week. The full album will be released end of January. The ‘Sefofu’ and ‘Ama pelo yaka’ hit maker always releases music that stands out. He explained to Vibe that ‘Look, look’ is a song that appreciates the goodness of God at all the times. “It is a testimony song that I have written to share and appreciate the goodness of God in our lives from the beginning and moving forward and it is a beautiful piece of music item,” he said. The 26-year-old seems to be the man of the figure ‘13’ this year as he celebrated 13 years in the music industry and has also sealed a 13-track album.
He also started his music career at the age of 13. He explained that he believes in music that has a message and speaks positivity into the lives of people from all walks of life. “I regard my latest album as spiritually rich and an important one that marks my milestone in music, especially as I worked with my mentor, Thato Mampe from South Africa, who helped transform his music. Mampe came into my life when I needed transition in my music, when I first recorded Ama pelo yaka,” he said. The album was recorded in partnership deal with Word of Life Record Studios under New Movement Records in South Africa. He promised that the album would take his new level to new heights and reflect an awe-inspiring elegance.
“We have written brand new songs inspired by God in this album and there is one particular song by one of the legends musicians in Botswana that I took and played around with. It is also going to be very awesome,” he said. Vusi noted that the greatest moment of his music career was the time when God began to minister into his life and put him in a place of inspiration where he came up with new songs that speak to people rather than entertaining them. “I believe that success in gospel music is not measured by how many songs one has sold but how many lives one has impacted with their music,” he noted. Vusi is also a preacher and over the festive season he will be hard at work preaching in different churches while also blessing people with his good music. He is expected to perform in Selebi Phikwe on 31st December during the day and later head back to Gaborone where he will headline the Gospel Glory night session to be held at GICC.
