Rhumba giants clash in Ghetto
Botswana local Rhumba giant, Franco, Alfredo Mos, Jeff Matheatau, Tumza and the Big Bullets and Oscar Chakabuya will collide in Francistown at the Old stadium in a musical concert dubbed the Kwambala Music festival, which is in its second year running. Speaking to VIBE, the brains behind the festival Lesego Kwambala who is also Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) councillor revealed that this year’s instalment of the festival will be better than the first since most of the artistes billed to perform will sample their brand new albums ahead of the festivities in December.
He further said that although the first instalment of the show was a big success, they hope that this year it will even be better based on the fact that a local radio station Duma FM has sponsored them with promotional slots to sell the festival across the country. “We have also tightened our security which comprises of guards, dogs and bouncers to mention but a few. We will also ease congestion by opening two gates which will be used as the entrance and exit for easy access by our valued customers. It is going to be a very big show and we will leave people asking for more,”he explained. Apart from the show organiser’s input, he revealed that various artistes roped in the show have already started promoting the show on social media platforms using different means of advertising. For Alfredo Mos, it will be a launch party for his brand new album whose release date coincides with the date of the festival and as such many fans will have the opportunity to buy his new music straight from the hot pot. Other performing artistes expected to grace the festival are MC Maswe and the Beauty Queens, Madala feat Kellyjess, and many others.
