Miss Teen Universe Botswana grand finale set for April 2
The innocence of youth blended with glitz and glamour as 19 teenagers between 15 and 19 years battled it out for the next Miss Teen Universe Botswana crown.
Dressed in different makes of red coloured dresses, the models introduced themselves to the audience. Their shoes had heels so long it seemed as if they could see the top of Kgale hill with them. Still in these dresses they danced for the audience before proceeding to showcase their talents.
Tsholofelo Mogotsi was the first to start and showcased her talent for public speaking by giving a motivational talk to the youth present. She urged them to stay away from drugs and alcohol and to keep themselves sexually pure so as to combat the HIV/AIDS scourge.
Chenesani Sethilo gave a poem about the strength of a woman while Lerato Ikobe spoke on her journey of self-love and self-discovery.
These are just a few of the talents that were on display, some of the girls danced traditional dance, some sang whilst others played netball on stage.
Once the talent show was over, the girls modelled garments from local designers Mokgabo Fabrics, Butterfly designs and Chadrew designs. Each designer showed between four and five garments.
The night ended with an announcement that the grand finale will take place on the 2nd of April in Gaborone where the names of the model and designer who won will be announced.
