Ditiro is back with a bang

Talented traditional music maestro, Ditiro Leero’s new album Maganamokgwa is expected to hit the shelves on 25 February.

The Kanye born muso was convicted and sentenced to seven years imprisonment in 2012 causing his fans to wonder if they’d ever hear him sing again. In an interview, Leero said that Maganamokgwa is an album to remind his fans that indeed he is back with a bang and ready to do what he does best.

“Maganamokgwa means people that are so close to me, my friends, people I worked with and those I grew up with. The title track is dedicated to them,” said.

Antshathogo featuring Tsankana is one of the songs that promise to take Batswana by storm. In it he digs in his reservoir of rich Tswana idioms to minister on the virtues of perseverance and long suffering.

“Many people usually stress themselves when they feel neglected instead of just focusing on what is best for them”, he said. The song Kgatsele ya Tau is his way of thanking those people that have stood by his side through thick and thin and made him what he is today.

The eight-song album was produced by Bullet Ketshabile and recorded at Bullet Productions. Leero believes that his new album will prove to his fans that he is still the backbone of traditional music.

“When you listen to the album you can learn several things about life in general and stay positive” he noted. Leero has four traditional albums that he recorded at Dargie Digital Studios.

He has also worked with Gongmaster on dikhwaere album. “I am a born singer and I will never stop singing regardless of any situation”, he said.
