Just Gospel contests heat up!
Francistown based gospel show, Just Gospel’s, grand finale that was initially billed for the 2nd of July will be held in Maun this Saturday.
Due to the sudden death of some of the TV show’s personnel, the show could not go on as planned. The duo is alleged to have been driving to Francistown after an interview with a local television, Botswana Television (BTV) when they lost their lives in a fatal accident which occurred in mid-June. Robert Muzila was the show’s director while Thabo Dube, popularly known, as “Christian Guy” was the presenter of the show.
Just Gospel, which is currently airing on BTV had scooped best TV show award at the Trumpet Africa Music Awards, which were held in Pretoria in May. Even though the show is still thin on the ground, it has put Botswana on the map as it was recognized in Africa.
Just Gospel was started by founder and pastor of Potters Church, Keorapetse Muzila and her late husband Muzila. She told Vibe in an interview that people should expect an extra ordinary show in Maun. Muzila said the house will be on fire as she is expecting an artist by the name Switch from Swaziland. The likes of Tebby, Vusi, Winnie Mataba and Just Gospel Choir will also be mesmerizing patrons according to the pastor.
“One of the contestants will be walking away with a whopping prize of P200, 000 and that is not a joke,” Muzila said. Pastor Muzila also said that for one of the four contestants, being Bame Maoto and Lechani Botope, both 17-year-olds, Petrus Leungo (34) and Keobokile Kemodisa (27) could walk away with the whopping prize and they need people to cast votes.
“To vote for your favorite singer, you send the name of the contestant to 16776. The voting line will be closed on the 29th at midnight,” Pastor Muzila said. She disclosed that not only will the winner walk away with P200, 000 but a record deal and a tour around the country.
