Osiris Black honours My Star fans with a mix tape
Osiris Black known as Obakeng Matebu during his stint on My Star says his mix tape is an honor to his fans who supported him on his journey throughout the popular music competition.
The mix tape is titled Osiris One Love, and is a very vivid artwork, which according to the singer depicts many genres. “The mix tape encompasses a little bit of pop, embracing my poetic rap skills and a lot of trap. People got used to me dabbing (a modern day dance where one unfolds arms and fold the other arm and bends the head towards the bent arm) on stage and most do the dab when I meet them on shopping malls so I found it necessary to give them something to dab to,” he said. The mix tape also includes dance hall and rap.
The energetic singer explained that the twelve track mix tape is a compilation for Orisis Black’ fans. “My people all around the country gave me all the support and love I needed so I am rewarding them. I am who I am because of them so their love cannot go unnoticed. Osiris One Love is for them, and all my mix tapes will bear the title Black Series so that I grow the brand before the production of an album,” he said.
Osiris Black worked with his co-producer Emmanuel Risky Mothibi and featured Savage and Deon Echelon on Gimme more and Make me go respectively, while TriggerMayne Moatswi produced both songs. He features Perion on Mountain tall, which was produced by Portman Kontle, among other songs. The mix tape will be launched at Wonder Park (Eros) in Tlokweng on September 17 this month and tickets go for P30.
