Makoriba drop their first album

Maghebula’s former dancers, Makoriba, have finally dropped their much anticipated first album after many years of of promising a special offering.

The leader of the group Lesitamang Lota told Vibe that they started dancing for Maghebula in 2010 when the reverred traditional artist stormed the market with his first album titled Setlhako sa lela.

Lota explained that since they did not have any experience in recording contemporary traditional music, they had to look for a prominent artist who could teach them the ropes and Maghebula offered to assist them.

‘’In 2014, we decided to part ways with Maghebula to focus on our solo project. We parted ways with Maghebula amicably. Makoriba was formed in 2015. We have now released our first album titled Ke tshwarwa ke Bogatsu. It is a very good album which has kept us busy with musical promotions, corporate shows and musical festivals, ” he said.

Lota added that they have landed gigs at political rallies, weddings and parties. The group also performed at the BOT50 celebrations in Selebi Phikwe and Francistown. The title track Ke tshwarwa ke Bogatsu harmonises well with the groups lyrics which have been mastered to perfection as shown by no distortion of the songs compiled in the whole album.

Apart from Ke tshwarwa ke Bogatsu, there are other good songs in the album which include Makoriba, Manyalo, Masione, Rola kepese and Ma Africa.
