Ghetto artists cry foul over non-inclusion in the DStv road show

Some Francistown based artists have castigated Multi-choice Botswana for failing to include them in their DStv road show which is currently taking place around the country in a bid to educate customers on the current company’s flexible packages.

The road show according to the schedule will be staged in Francistown on the 8th of March at Shoprite centre next to the bus rank. The artist who approached VIBE and preferred not to be acknowledged complained that Multi-choice has failed to empower them since there is not even a single artist in the city to benefit from the road show.

“They argued that Multi-choice Botswana which is supported by thousands of locals did not bother to empower entertainers like other big companies who always make it a point to share their proceeds with entertainers.

We are not arguing because we failed to clinch a performance slot, but our argument is purely based on entertainment. At least they should have made it a point that they at least engage one or two artists in the all the areas where the road shows are to be held, “they argued.

When contacted on the above complaint, Multi-choice Botswana Public relations executive Thembile Ndzinge revealed to VIBE that their current ongoing DStv road show does not include entertainers as those to entertain their crowds will be members of the public.

“The road show is not all about entertaining people but rather, its core mandate is to promote our packages and other various products on offer by the company. Like they are saying, we might engage one or two local artists in the future but our road shows are for strictly promotional purposed,” Ndinge said.
