Hollywood trio imparts skills to locals
Dreams Alive Arts Club in collaboration with some renowned Hollywood performers is conducting an expo to empower and motivate young people involved in local arts and entertainment.
The Hollywood trio of Reyna Joy Banks, Brely Evans and Amber Baker is in the country to conduct the course. Evans is a common face in a variety of American movies such as Just Wright, Sparkle and La Hair.
She reckons that Botswana arts and entertainment can reach greater heights just like in the United States of America (USA). “All we should do as a globe is to trust each other and learn from each other, there should be no more surrogation,” she said.
The expo consists of a series of workshops, which caters for all ages, genders and backgrounds at Molapo Stanbic Piazza and Maitisong. “This is the time for kiddies, youth, professionals and women who are passionate and have love for acting and dancing,” explained Dreams Alive CEO Tshepiso Maruping.
The workshop was officially opened by US Ambassador to Botswana, Earl Miller who expressed gratitude and also commended Dreams Alive for such an initiative. “The US is committed to offer support creative performance in Botswana. Through Dreams Alive, we will build relations, share knowledge in films, TV, novels and arts and entertainment in general,” stated Miller.
