The power of LOVE
Love is very powerful because love gives one a reason to live. I have heard that couples’ longevity extended if they are truly in love. Many people sing about it. Actually, several artists like Celine Dion and Jennifer Rush have sung about this amazing power. Preachers use it to bring life to people. The world is a better place when love reigns supreme. Families thrive on love. The Holy Bible says that three things, being faith, hope and love remain, but the greatest of these is love. There is so much power in love. Even more powerful is constantly saying “I love you’ to the people in your heart. And, oh…letting your actions speak LOUDER, the language of love. Are any three words more heavily charged than ’I love you’? They do more than acknowledge that ‘I will your good.’ They affirm that you have a place in my heart; that I delight in you; that you are a part of me; that you have some power over me. Like, I want to give you the gift of myself. They confess that your acceptance or rejection of me can build me up or tear me down. They admit my vulnerability. They promise: I will forgive whatever wrong you cause me, because for you I am willing to be wounded, I am willing to suffer. They beg the response: Yes, I love you, too! It has gotten me thinking about how we approach Our Father God. My preacher recently spoke so much of childlike faith; he knew that God loved us without question. He first loved us. He loved us enough to give us His only begotten Son, Jesus so that we can have eternal life. God made us to love us, to delight in us, desiring for us to freely choose to love Him in return. And He made us to love Him through those around us, and to love those around us through Him, and to let ourselves be loved by Him through them and by them through Him.I can feel His love when I’m kneeling down in Worship. Those wordless ‘I love you’ bouncing back and forth between my soul and Him, feeling pulled towards Him as if by a magnet. I can feel His love in my family’s unexpected showers of affection; in a chance glimpse of beauty and in the kindness of another. Your world can change, a dramatically when someone tells you. Therefore, not only does it reflect feelings, but it also affects your personality and your own life. When someone loves you, when you feel loved, everything in your life seems much brighter, nicer, more attractive and beautiful. Your reality is illuminated in a way that only love can cause. A real ‘I love you’ changes your whole world. Facebook/Instagram: Yvonne Tshepang Mooka Twitter: @yvonnemooka
