No weapon formed against you shall prosper
No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, said the LORD. (Isaiah 51:17) Some people think that being a Christian is a smooth ride. That once you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Personal Saviour, you will have a problem-free life. That once you become a believer, your challenges disappear. And that the devourer (Satan), who is also known as a liar and the father of lies in John 8:44 won’t try to mess you up. I was young when I got saved but one thing I can attest to is that it has been a journey of countless ups and downs. I have been at the lowest place in my life where it seemed nothing was working. I have travailed in prayer and worship without seeing results. But one thing for sure is that I have never questioned the sovereignty of God and His mighty power. God through His Word is speaking to us. We communicate to Him through prayer and one way of Him communing with us is through His Word. We are to meditate on it day and night, and He tells us that it should not depart from our mouths. Somewhere in the Old Testament, God talks about formation of weapons against us, saying they won’t prosper. So here, He is telling us that ‘Yes, the weapons will form.’ But again He assures us that they won’t accomplish their mission. Therefore, it is not surprising that as a Christian, you will encounter attacks…that you will face accusations, opposition and persecution. The devil will try but he won’t win because God is with you. He will never leave nor forsake you. He wants you to be still and to know that He is God. He will fight your battles. Count it all joy when you face trials because ultimately, He will reward you with the crown of life. The same God who was with those three Hebrew boys in the midst of the furnace will be with you when you go through the storms of life. He was with Joseph when his brothers disowned him, and when his master’s wife accused him of raping him. Jehovah is His name and He is man of war. As a Christian, you should know that the journey itself is warfare. Perilous times are here and we need to be spiritually alert. Read and meditate on the Word. Apply it and see it work. Repent where you have disobeyed. Pray without ceasing. Once again, know that NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST YOU SHALL PROSPER. Please, learn to encourage yourself in the Lord like the Psalmist David.
