Lesh eyeing a return to big league
Two seasons ago, central midfielder Lesego Galenamothale was revered as one of the best players in the BTC premiership. Back then Galenamotlhale affectionately known as Lesh, was playing for the struggling Mochudi Centre Chiefs but his individual brilliance often stood out. The player’s antics saw supporters across the league calling for the then national coach Peter Butler to include Lesh in the national team call up. It was not long before a richer rival teams spotted Galenamotlhale’s talents and snatched him from the sinking Magosi. The player’s move to rival Orapa United, over a year ago broke the hearts of the Magosi faithful and held so much promise for the midfielder’s future. Nevertheless, Galenamotlhale did not shine and carry his previous form over to the Ostriches. During his tenure at Boteti the box to box middle fielder was rocked by a career threatening injury, which led to the termination of his contract with Orapa. In an interview with Sun Sports this week, Galenamotlhale gave an update on his injury and what the future holds for his career in the premier league. “I hope to start training by the end of February or March. That is the time period my doctor gave for recovery,” the player revealed. The player said there are a number of clubs that are currently interested in securing his services. Some of these teams include Gaborone United, Chiefs, BDF XI and Police XI. Quizzed on whether he could return to his beloved Chiefs, Galenamotlhale said: “Anything is possible.”Despite the abrupt termination of his contract at Orapa, Lesh insists he was happy at Boteti. “ I do not regret leaving Chiefs for Orapa because I was trying to earn a living.”
