Two people perished in Khekheng last week when a donkey cart they were travelling in was hit by Toyota Surf vehicle. According to Kang Police Station Commander Superintendent Olebeng Chingane, the incident happened on July 3 in the evening. The donkey cart had eight people while the Surf had only the driver and a passenger. Chingane said that the Surf hit the cart from behind when it was turning at Khekheng T-junction. “A 31-year-old woman and 35-year old-man died on the spot. Four passengers survived serious injuries and were rushed to Scottish Livingstone Hospital in Molepolole and discharged the same day. “A one and half year-old baby survived unharmed. One person is critical at Princess Marina hospital,” he said adding that no one was injured from the Surf vehicle. Supt. Chingane said they have not arrested the driver, stating that they were still investigating the matter. The deceased were buried in Khekheng on Saturday.
