From Big Brother to politics
Former Big Brother contestant Motamma Horacious nee Sesinyi is now in politics and is contesting in the Block 3 Itumeleng ward. Before being part of Big Brother Africa, Motamma, who was at one-point tourism Ambassador, was Miss Tourism Botswana. The tall and leggy beauty who got attention of many with her dance moves on the popular reality show several years ago has seemingly swapped the bright lights of showbiz and glam fame for a more “noble” pursuit of serving people. Although she did not win, Motamma was a firm favourite on Big Brother 8: The Chase, which also featured former radio personality Oneal Madumo who has since relocated to South Africa. Posters of the charming beauty pepper the surburb of Block 3. Speaking at a rally a few weeks ago in the area, Motamma promised to serve the electorate. She expressed a passion for uplifting youth and advocating for development that would change lives. “We want to go where decisions are made and influence change,” she said. She said it was high time for young people who are driven and committed to seeing change happen to lead from the front, adding that council was an important space to champion the cause of communities from grassroot levels and deal with issues that affect people on a day to day basis. Although she was in the spotlight sometime after her stint on the reality show, Motamma would later disappear from the limelight and it later emerged that she was pregnant and delivered her baby girl in 2015. She got married to her sweetheart in Maun two years ago, in a low-key wedding.
