Thabang Kearilwe (27) finds himself in deep trouble with the law following the death of Tefo Boyboy Joroso (32), the man that he assaulted in May 6.

Joroso who has been hospitalised at Princess Marina Hospital (PMH) for more than a month succumbed to his injuries recently. He was buried in Kanye this past Sunday.

Kearilwe, who has been in jail since May 8, is now facing a new charge of murder. The charge sheet has been changed from assault occasioning actual bodily harm, to murder.

Confirming the matter, Kanye Police station commander Mmoloki Mogale said Kearilwe of Kanye was remanded in custody to allow the police to gather all evidence in the matter.

Another reason was that the deceased was in critical condition in hospital therefore they had to wait and see what happens with him first.

The police boss said they have gathered that the two had a misunderstanding while out enjoying beverages in Kanye. A fight ensued and blows were exchanged.

Unfortunately for the deceased, he fell and hit his head on some rocks leading to him sustaining head injuries.

Joroso was rushed to Kanye Hospital only for him to be transferred to PMH the same day. Both the accused and the deceased are from Ruele ward in Kanye.

The murder accused will be back in court next week Monday.
