Handsome new Nissan Navara

Perhaps the most handsome double cab ever, the 2017 Nissan Navara is here to shake things up in the market.

Nissan has ditched the powerful petrol models for a more economical yet less powerful 2.3 litre power train.  However, the Navara has made up for the reduced   power with rugged good looks and the new double cab can easily walk away with the tiara in a beauty contest.

However, the new model delivers a decent 140 kW with an option of 6 or seven speed gearboxes. Torque figures   are around 450 NM, which is enough to haul close to 4000 kg. The Navara comes with all bells and whistle to   compete with modern saloon cars including dual climate   control and reverse camera.

The Navara comes with impressive car like comforts including Bluetooth-equipped six-speaker stereo, cloth seats, halogen headlights and privacy glass. The new   handsome beast also features a 16-inch steering keyless entry, rear air-con vents and some highly attractive chrome touches as part of the exterior design.

The upscale 4x4 model comes with a rear-view camera, LED headlamps with DRLs, a 5.0-inch screen with phone integration and a digital driver display. Car like features extend to 16-inch wheels with alloys and a multimedia screen 7.0-inch touch screen with standard sat-nav, along with a leather-wrapped wheel and gear stick.

Tub liner and roof rails, heated wing mirrors with integrated indicators and 18-inch alloy wheels. You also get carpet instead of vinyl flooring along with heated front seats, which are now accented in leather. Dual-zone climate also makes an appearance, along with keyless entry and push-button start.

The new Navara faces stiff competition from well-established players including Toyota Hilux, Ford   Ranger and the Mazda BT-50. With only 140kw the Navara has just enough power to keep up with top contenders.
